A Theni police special team has nabbed a ganja case accused from Andhra Pradesh.
According to police, in November 2024, Royappanpatti police in Theni district intercepted a vehicle near Ulavamaram Thoppu in Narayanathevanpatti. The police arrested four persons: Jai Ananth Prakash, Kumaresan, Satheesh and Suresh alias Suresh Gobi for the possession of 24 kg ganja. The vehicle was seized and the four accused were remanded in judicial custody.
Based on the confessions of the accused, ganja seller Majji Manikanda Srenivas of Cheedigummala in Anakapalli district in Andhra Pradesh was arrested by the special team. He had been absconding.
The special team proceeded to Andhra Pradesh and arrested Srenivas. He was produced before Narsipatnam Judicial Magistrate and a transit warrant was obtained. Subsequently, he was brought to Theni district and then produced before the Special Court in Madurai. He has been remanded in judicial custody.
