The CBI officers on Saturday visited the secluded location behind the office of the Assistant Commissioner of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department adjacent to the Adaikalam Katha Ayyanar Matrum Badrakaliamman Temple at Madapuram.
As part of the investigation pertaining to the custodial death of B. Ajith Kumar, a security guard, the CBI team on Friday, interrogated the victim’s brother B. Naveen Kumar, auto driver Arun Kumar, temple staff Vinoth Kumar, Praveen Kumar, temple official’s driver Karthikvel, police special team personnel and driver Ramachandran, at their office in Madurai.
On the following day, the team, in addition to investigating at the places near temple, went around the places where the accused had taken the victim in their vehicle for investigation.
Also, sources said, the officers found another number plate in the vehicle which was used to carry the victim to different places for interrogation. As the vehicle had TN 63 G 0941 on the number plate, the original number was found to be TN 01 G 0941, a Chennai registration vehicle.
