
Student volunteers join Forest Department personnel in clearing plastic wastes from roadside in Amaravathy Reserve Forest area.

Taking the support of college students, the Forest Department on Saturday cleared roadsides of plastic wastes to the extent of 800 kg at two locations in Tiruppur Division of Anamalai Tiger Reserve.
About 65 NSS volunteers of Vidyasagar College in Udumalpet were roped in to clear the roadsides stretching from 9/6 and Chinnar check-posts.
Likewise, a group of 25 student volunteers from A.V.P. College in Tiruppur carried out the task around Nanjarayan Bird Sanctuary.
The initiative was supported by the WWF, Nature Society, Town Panchayat and Tiruppur Corporation.
