The district administration has prohibited the operation of drones at Gangaikonda Cholapuram on July 26 and 27 in view of the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a statement, Collector P. Rathinasamy said that Mr. Modi had scheduled to visit Brihadeeswarar Temple at Gangaikonda Cholapuram on Sunday. Hence, a 2-km radius of helipad, temple, and the meeting spot and the Prime Minister’s convoy route will be declared as red zone, he said.
