Citizens in Hyderabad had to pull out their umbrellas, raincoats as it rained in parts of the city on Friday (July 25, 2025) late afternoon and continued till the evening. 

However, the rain intensity was light as the highest of 4 mm was recorded in Secunderabad circle of Marredpally mandal, according to the Telangana Development Planning Society’s (TGDPS) data recorded from morning to 4.00 p.m.

Though the rain stopped before the beginning of evening rush hour, the overcast sky appeared ominous as a gentle breeze blew through the city. Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri were among the list of several districts under orange alert (light rain and light thunderstorm), according to a nowcast by India Meteorological Department, effective till 7.00 p.m.

The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or drizzle accompanied with strong surface winds (30-40 kmph)as very likely in the city and surroundings on Saturday (July 26, 2025).
