Minister for Industries T.R.B. Rajaa on Friday visited the site selected for the State Industries Promotion Corporation Of Tamil Nadu’s (SIPCOT) industrial estate coming up near Sankarankovil.
Mr. Rajaa said the proposed SIPCOT Industrial Estate would come up on 150 acres of land to provide employment to over 3,000 persons from the industrially backward area. The purpose behind selecting Sankarankovil for this industrial park was to give employment to the locals and attract the skilled workers of Sankarankovil and adjoining areas migrated to other places back to their native place.
“The infrastructure to be created at this site will attract a good number of investors,” the Minister hoped.
District Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore, District Revenue Officer S. Jayachandran and Sankarankovil MLA E. Raja were present.
