Three militants, including a woman, have been arrested from two districts of Manipur, police said on Saturday (July 26, 2025).
The arrested militants, belonging to two proscribed outfits, were involved in extortion activities.

An active cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) was arrested from his residence at Salam Mamang Leikai in Imphal West district on Thursday (July 24, 2025). The insurgent, identified as Sorokhaibam Inaocha Singh (47), was involved in extortion activities, a police statement said.
Five extortion notes with the letterhead of KCP (PWG) and two seal stamps were seized from his possession.
Security forces also arrested a woman cadre of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from her residence at Oinam Sawombung in Thoubal district on Friday (July 25, 2025).
She was identified as Oinam Ranjita Devi (38), and was involved in extortion from schools, shops and business establishments, it said.

Documents, including note pads recording the contact numbers of individuals from whom money was extorted, were seized from her possession.
Another active cadre of the PLA was arrested from Leirongthel Pitra area in Thoubal district on Friday (July 25, 2025).
He was identified as Ahanthem Surjit Singh (29) and was involved in extortion and recruitment of new cadres from Thoubal district.
