BJP MP from Anakapalli C.M. Ramesh on Saturday (July 26, 2025) stirred a political storm by alleging that working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) had once approached him with a proposal to merge his party with the BJP.

Addressing the media here, Mr. Ramesh alleged that Mr. Rama Rao had put forth the merger proposal in Delhi, and that he had video evidence of it.

“A few months ago, KTR had come to my house with the proposal and, in return, sought that no cases are registered against and investigation made into the scams allegedly committed by the BRS government. I have video proof of the Telangana leader’s visit to my house,” Mr. Ramesh alleged, and dared the BRS leader to swear by God and tell whether he had approached him with such a proposal or not.

Meanwhile, leaders of various parties opined that Mr. Ramesh’s allegations were in response to the remarks of Mr. Rama Rao against the BJP leader.

“Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is giving Telangana contracts to Andhra Pradesh contractors. There is a secret understanding between Mr. Revanth Reddy and Mr. Ramesh,” the BRS leader had alleged recently.
