Chennai: Hoax bomb threat to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin’s house

The Teynampet police have filed a case and are investigating the bomb threat received at the residence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Alwarpet, Chennai on Sunday (July 27, 2025). 

A senior official of Greater Chennai police said a bomb threat call was received by the control room of the Old Commissioner office. The caller identified as Vinothkumar said a bomb has been placed in the Chief Minister’s house located on Chittaranjan Road.

Immediately, Teynampet police was alerted and they deputed a patrol team along with a bomb detection and disposal squad as well as a dog squad to investigate the claim. However, the police team found the bomb threat to be a hoax. 

Similarly, a bomb threat to Anna University building was received through an email on Saturday. The Kotturpuram police sent a police team along with a dog squad and found the threat to be hoax. The senior police official said this was the 21st bomb threat to the university campus.
