Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Virendra Sachdeva on Sunday said that the government has managed to keep waterlogging to a “minimum” level, noting that the party had promised ahead of the 2025 Assembly poll that it would “seriously” address the waterlogging issue in the city.
“The Delhi government had pledged to prevent the recurrence of accidents in Rajinder Nagar, Patel Nagar, Moti Nagar, Burari, Kirari, and other areas. We are proud that, unlike last year when over 50 lives were lost due to waterlogging in Delhi, no such incidents occurred this year due to the preparedness of the government,” he said, indicating the deaths of three civil services aspirants who drowned in the basement of the Rajinder Nagar coaching centre and a student, who was electrocuted due to a live wire hanging.
Mr. Sachdeva paid homage to the four persons who died in waterlogging-related issues last year.
