Fifteen lakh tonnes of legacy waste has been processed at Kodungaiyur across four packages in eight months. As part of the ongoing remediation, over 1.4 lakh tonnes of Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) has been safely disposed. This week, two acres of reclaimed land will be handed over to the Greater Chennai Corporation by the concessionaire to kickstart a plantation drive — marking a significant step towards a cleaner and greener Chennai, a press release said.
