KUFOS Vice-Chancellor denies reports of sharing dais with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

A. Bijukumar, Vice-Chancellor of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), has rejected reports that he was part of an educational session attended by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat in connection with the education conclave organised by Shiksha Samskriti Utthan Nyas in Kochi on Sunday (July 27, 2025).

In a statement issued on Sunday, he stated that he had attended an education seminar organised by the Association of Indian Universities at Amrita Vidyapeetam in Kochi on Sunday. He said he had presented his views at the discussion on ‘Educational transformation: Kerala’s potential and possibilities’ held as part of the event. “The news that I was part of a session attended by the RSS chief was wrong,” it said.

The organisers of the event had earlier said that Vice-Chancellors of Central University, Kasaragod, Calicut University, Kannur University, KUFOS and Kerala University of Health Sciences would attend various sessions held as part of the conclave.
