DVAC team seizes cash from Tiruchi West RTO office

A Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) team conducted a surprise check at the office of the Regional Transport Officer (West) in Tiruchi on Tuesday and seized ₹1.06 lakh “unaccounted cash.” 

The check was conducted based on information that bribe was being collected directly at the RTO office and through brokers from the general public.

Acting on the information, a DVAC team launched a surprise check at the office in the afternoon during which “unaccounted money” totalling ₹1.06 lakh was seized from four places within the office and from a couple of brokers. The team conducted inquiries with the Regional Transport Officer and the Motor Vehicle Inspectors, said a DVAC release.
