Over 25 grams of suspected MDMA seized in Kochi

The Kochi City police arrested three persons in two separate cases with over 25 grams of suspected MDMA on Thursday (July 31, 2025).

P.M. Shameer, 49, of Palluruthy, was arrested with 22.71 grams of suspected MDMA from Vazhakkala. The police also reportedly seized ₹92,500 from him. He was found to have three other NDPS cases against him, the police said.

Sony Jinnus, 24, and V.B. Sanal, 24, both residents of Kaloor, were nabbed from a lodge near the KSRTC bus stand with 2.57 grams of suspected MDMA. A team of Kochi City District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force made the arrests.
