A 13-year-old girl was found dead on the ground floor of her apartment complex in Kukatpally late on July 31. She lived with her parents on the 17th floor of Manjeera Trinity Homes, Phase 3, and was a Class 9 student at Narayana High School in Addagutta.
The deceased, identified as A. Lasya Priya, had returned home from school after her mother attended a parent–teacher meeting earlier in the day. According to the police complaint filed by her father, Akula Hari Narayana Murthy, a civil engineer, the school authorities had expressed concern over her academic performance and asked the parents to counsel her.
After dinner, Lasya went to her bedroom while her parents were in the living room. Around 10.30 p.m., following a call from the apartment president, Narasimha Rao, Mr. Murthy rushed to the ground floor where he found his daughter lying lifeless with severe injuries.
KPHB police have booked a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the drastic step.
