J. Ravishankar, Managing Director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Yellow Line on Saturday. The inspection covered the entire 19.15-km stretch from Bommasandra to R.V. Road, including the Hebbagodi depot.

Accompanied by senior BMRCL officials, Mr. Ravishankar reviewed the ongoing work and assessed the preparedness of the corridor. The BMRCL MD instructed officials to address any shortfalls and ensure all arrangements are in place for the line’s public opening, an official release said.

On Friday, the long-delayed Yellow Line of Namma Metro moved a step closer to becoming operational, as the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) received the much-anticipated statutory safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), Southern Circle.

The 19-km corridor runs through several densely populated and high-traffic areas such as Central Silk Board, HSR Layout, and Electronics City, making it a crucial route for daily commuters and tech professionals.

Initially slated for completion in 2021, the Yellow Line has faced repeated delays, with the most recent deadline that passed in June 2024. The setbacks were largely attributed to challenges in procuring the necessary rolling stock.
