Neelankarai Police have arrested a history sheeter Ravi alias Kadhukuthu Ravi, 56 with methamphetamine at his hideout in a service apartment in Akkarai.
Ravi, 56, a native of Perundurai, Erode district is history sheeted rowdy in the records of Neelankarai and is facing 22 criminal several cases for offences including five murders, five attempt to murders and land grabbing, extortion. He was also accused of playing an active role in the murder of Kathiravan, when the latter was facing trial in the Sankararaman murder case. Kathiravan was murdered in 2013 by a gang armed with deadly weapons. Three years after the murder of Kathiravan, the Enforcement Directorate acted against Ravi and attached his properties.
Following a tip off on his movement, police conducted a raid at a service apartment in Akkarai where he was staying. Police said he was arrested after seizure of 10 grams of methaphetamine from his possession.
