Hyderabad Rain August 4 | People look up as sky thunders, more showers likely over next 48 hours

Several areas across Hyderabad witnessed spells of rainfall on Monday (August 4, 2025) afternoon, bringing relief from the recent dry spell. The showers were accompanied by loud thunder, prompting many residents to glance skyward as the skies darkened over the city.

According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), as of 3 p.m.,Hayathnagar received the highest rainfall in the city, recording 16.8 mm followed by 9 mm in Defence Colony (Hayathnagar), 3.3 mm in Saroornagar, and 2 mm in Bandlaguda.

In its latest bulletin issued on Monday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers, along with gusty winds, for Hyderabad and its neighbouring areas over the next 48 hours.
