Former Achampet MLA and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Nagarkurnool district president Guvvala Balaraju resigned from both his position in the party and his primary membership.

In a letter (dated August 2) addressed to BRS founder and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr. Balaraju said the decision was taken with a ‘heavy heart’ after serving the party for nearly two decades.

“My only intention throughout this journey has been the upliftment of the downtrodden and the empowerment of the last person standing in the line,” he said, adding that he would continue to work for public welfare in any capacity possible.

Mr. Balaraju said he was leaving with no ‘bitterness or complaints’ and would always remain thankful for the identity and dignity the party gave him.
