Grandmaster Karthikeyan Murali joins the Masters field at the Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters 2025 to be held here from August 6 following the withdrawal of Vladimir Fedoseev. The Russian had to withdraw due to unforeseen circumstances, a press release said on Monday.
The 26-year-old Karthikeyan will feature in an impressive line-up that includes India’s World No. 5, Arjun Erigaisi, Vidit Gujrathi, Anish Giri and Vincent Keymer among others.
“It’s an honour to play in the Masters event of the Chennai Grand Masters. Competing in my home city is always a special feeling, and I’m looking forward to playing some exciting games,” said Karthikeyan.
G.B. Harshavardhan will take Karthikeyan’s place in the Challengers event.
