An Air India Express flight from Varanasi to Hyderabad was diverted to Bengaluru on Monday evening due to bad weather in the city caused by heavy rainfall.

The flight, operated on a Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft with the call sign IX 2834, had taken off from Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at 2.55 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 4.30 p.m. However, adverse weather conditions, including poor visibility caused by intense rain over the city, prevented the aircraft from landing.

As a result, the flight was diverted to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, where it touched down safely at around 6 p.m.
