Hyderabad district collector Hari Chandana Dasari directed medical officers to strengthen public health services in view of the increasing risk of seasonal diseases caused by persistent rainfall across Hyderabad.

During a visit to the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) in Chintal Basti on Tuesday, she instructed Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) to conduct door-to-door fever survey under the UPHC’s jurisdiction to detect early cases of dengue, malaria and chikangunya.

“Patients visiting government hospitals must receive quality medical care, especially during this period of continuous rain when the risk of disease outbreak is high,” she said. The Collector also examined the cold chain infrastructure at the facility and reviewed the availability of vaccines and medicines.
