The Whitefield police are on the lookout for two motorcycle borne men who molested a 23-year-old software engineer while she was walking towards her paying guest accommodation on Tuesday night.
Based on the complaint, by the friend of the victim, the police have charged the accused under section 74 (assault or use of criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023 and are verifying footage from CCTV cameras in and around the area to identify the accused.
The victim, working in an IT form and staying in a PG accommodation, was walking with her friend at around 11.30 p.m. when the accused confronted them. Before they could realsze one of the accused molested the complainant’s friend. Shocked by this, the duo started walking towards the PG facility on the deserted street, but the accused who went ahead came back molested the victim again and sped away, the complainant said.
