In order to strengthen the film and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism sectors in Telangana, the State government on Thursday, August 7 announced the development of a new ‘Film in Telangana’ portal, a single-window platform aimed at streamlining permissions and logistics for film shooting across the State.

The announcement was made during a stakeholder meeting chaired by Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture, and Dil Raju, who currently heads the Telangana Film Development Corporation. The meeting brought together over 20 representatives from the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, cinematographers’ associations, studio heads, and senior officials from departments such as Forest, Endowments, and Heritage Telangana.

The discussions focused on enhancing Telangana’s appeal as a film-friendly destination by making it more accessible and cost-effective for both domestic and international productions. Among the key proposals were faster, integrated approval systems and improved infrastructure support for film crews.

Another stakeholder consultation focusing on MICE tourism was held at Taj Krishna, drawing participation from nearly 40 professionals representing the events, hospitality, travel, aviation, and venue management sectors. Mr. Jayesh Ranjan highlighted the government’s commitment to positioning Telangana as a leading MICE destination in India through a vision-driven strategy backed by clearly defined action plans, timelines, and measurable goals. The consultation aimed to draft a comprehensive roadmap to promote the sector more aggressively on both domestic and global platforms.
