The railways will operate special trains between Mangaluru Junction and Thiruvananthapuram North to clear extra rush of passengers during the Independence Day holidays.
A release from Southern Railway’s Palakkad Division here said Train No. 06041 Mangaluru Junction – Thiruvananthapuram North Bi-Weekly Special Express leaves Mangaluru Junction at 7.30 p.m. on August 14 and 16 (Thursday and Saturday) to reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 8 a.m. the next day.
Train No. 06042 Thiruvananthapuram North – Mangaluru Junction Bi-Weekly Special Express leaves Thiruvananthapuram North at 5.15 p.m. on August 15 and 17 (Friday and Sunday) to reach Mangaluru Junction at 6.30 a.m. the next day.
The train would have one 2-tier AC, two 3-tier AC, 17 sleeper class, and two second class luggage cum brake van coaches.
