Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the new super-speciality block at the Kannur district hospital on Monday (August 11).
Built under the ‘Aardram’ Mission and funded by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), the five-storey facility brings advanced medical services under one roof, with outpatient departments for cardiology, nephrology, and oncology. It also features three modular operation theatres, ICUs, a dialysis unit, and 23 executive pay wards.
Between January and July 2025 alone, the hospital conducted 999 orthopaedic surgeries, 919 surgeries, 339 general, 337 gynaecology and 35 ENT surgeries. A mobile ophthalmic unit for cataract surgeries is also in service.
