A 70-year-old woman was murdered in L.B. Patnam village in Cheedikada mandal here in Anakapalli district, on Saturday (August 9, 2025).
According to reports from the Cheedikada police, the incident occurred at around 4 a.m., when a youth identified as K. Pavan Sai, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, attacked G. Pydithalamma with a stone while she was on her way to relieve herself. Family members of the youth have stated that the accused has also been dealing with mental health issues.
The police have launched a manhunt for Pavan Sai.
Cheedikada police have registered a case. Futher investigation is on.
