
Special enforcement drive conducted by the Cyberabad traffic police
A total of 340 individuals were booked for driving under the influence during a weekend special enforcement drive conducted by the Cyberabad Traffic Police. The majority of the offenders were riding two-wheelers, with 288 cases recorded, followed by 13 three-wheelers and 39 four-wheelers. No heavy vehicle cases were reported.
Shamshabad and Miyapur booked the highest number of offenders at 46, followed by Rajendranagar with 35 and Kukatpally and Alwal with 31 each. Narsingi recorded the lowest figure with 8 cases, while Madhapur and Raidurgam reported none.
Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) readings revealed that 128 offenders had BAC levels between 51 and 100 mg/100 ml, 77 were between 101 and 150, 56 were under 50, 42 ranged from 151 to 200, 25 were between 201 and 300, while 12 recorded dangerously high BAC levels between 301 and 500 or above.
In the previous week, from August 4 to August 8, a total of 329 drunk driving cases were disposed of in court. Of these, 298 resulted in fines, 31 led to jail sentences, and 16 offenders were assigned to social service. Jail terms ranged from one day for two offenders, two days for 26, three days for one, and four days for two offenders.
