Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 132.75 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 608 cusecs and a discharge of 1,000 cusecs. In Vaigai dam, the level was 69.77 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 688 cusecs and a discharge of 569 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 10,116.69 mcft. Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Sunday was (in mm): Kuppanampatti 45, Elumalai 40.6, Andipatti 18.8, Peranai 10.6, Viraganur 6.2, Kodaikanal 2 and Periyar 1.4.
