The Bantwal Rural police have arrested Ranjith alias Ranju, 35, of Padu village in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, in connection with the murder of Abdul Rahiman on May 27.
The police have so far arrested a total of 13 persons in the murder case registered under Sections 191(1), 191(2), 191(3), 118(2), 109 and 103 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
On May 27, a group of persons attacked Abdul Rahiman and Kalandar Shafi, who were unloading sand from a pick-up truck at Ira Kodi, with lethal weapon,s resulting in the death of the former and serious injuries to the latter.
