Congress MP Mallu Ravi, who chairs the Telangana Congress Party’s Disciplinary Committee, on Sunday presided over a two-hour meeting that focused on recent controversial statements and public conduct by some MLAs in erstwhile Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar districts, and Minister Konda Surekha’s differences with Warangal district MLAs.

Emerging from the closed-door meeting, Mr.Ravi announced that leaders had set aside differences and agreed to work together, from grassroots organisational issues to major electoral battles. “We have come to a clear understanding that unity is the key to victory,” he said.

Konda Murali, husband of Ms.Surekha, attended the meeting and gave his version on the recent spat with the Warangal MLAs. He declared that Congress was in his blood. “Our mission is to see Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister.” He said the chairman had urged leaders to work together for the coming polls, and added that all explanations sought during the meeting were found satisfactory.

Later, Mr. Mallu Ravi said the committee also discussed matters related to Jedcharla MLA Anirudh Reddy, who was unable to attend the meeting. However, he assured the committee members that he would send the video circulating on social media over the functioning of some officials.

Mr.Ravi, replying to a question, said that the controversial statements of Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy were not discussed as no one brought them to the notice of the disciplinary committee. Mr. Reddy had recently expressed dissatisfaction over not being accommodated in the Cabinet despite being promised so before elections.
