Marshals of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) have entered the strike mode protesting a cut in their salaries.
The marshals, who are ex-servicemen recruited by the enforcement agency, reportedly received ₹7000 less this month compared to the pay agreed upon.
In response, about 100 of them boycotted work and gathered at the Sanjeevaiah Park in Hyderabad on Monday (August 11, 2025) to protest the pay cut.
The marshals, reportedly recruited for Enforcement, Vigilance and Disaster Management (EVDM) before HYDRAA was constituted, played a supervisory role, training the staff in rescue operations. HYDRAA chief A.V.Ranganath was not available for a comment.
