The Kochi City police in Kerala arrested two teenagers with 40 kg of suspected ganja from Aanavathil Junction, near Eloor, on Monday (August 11, 2025).
The arrested were identified as Raju, 19, and Suroj, 18; both residents of Murshidabad in West Bengal.
The two had been on the police radar for some time. They allegedly smuggled in ganja from Odisha where they had bought it for ₹3,000 per kg by train. They used to sell it for as high as ₹25,000 per kg in the State and then return, the police said.
The police are trying to track down their clients.
A team from the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force led by Narcotics Cell Assistant Commissioner K.A. Abdul Salam made the arrests.
