The police have arrested five youth, including two history-sheeters, on charges of robbing a woman at knife point near a subway in Kasimedu.
According to the police, on Saturday (August 9, 2025) afternoon, a 44-year-old woman was walking on the road near a subway at Powerkuppam, Kasimedu, when five unidentified men stopped her. They demanded money from her, and as she refused, they brandished a knife and snatched ₹500 from her.
On investigation, the police arrested five suspects: Aswinkumar, 24, of Kasimedu, Pugalendhi, 25, of Royapuram, and three others. Two of them have prior criminal history.
