Rural Development Minister I. Periyasamy and Minister for Food and Civil Supplies R. Sakkarapani inaugurated the ‘Thayumanavar Scheme’ in Dindigul district, on Tuesday.

The objective of the scheme is to deliver the essential commodities through the ration shops to the senior citizens above the age of 70 and the differently abled at their doorstep, according to a press release.

Minister Periyasamy launched the scheme in the presence of Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan in Neelamalaikottai panchayat and Minister Sakkarapani launched the scheme in Koothampoondi panchayat. Under the scheme, a total of 64,190 ration card holders will be benefited in the district.
