
Traffic diversions were announced by Hyderabad police for Independence Day celebrations at Golconda Fort on August 15, 2025

The Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued an advisory ahead of Independence Day celebrations, scheduled at Rani Mahal Lawns, Golconda Fort, on August 15. To ensure smooth proceedings, the road from Ramdevguda to Golconda Fort will be closed for general vehicular traffic from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Several traffic diversions will be in place on a need basis. Vehicles approaching Golconda Fort from Seven Tombs will be redirected via Jamali Darwaza, while traffic from GHMC Ground and GHMC Island will be diverted towards Mothi Mahal crossroads. Vehicles from Bada Bazar will be rerouted through GHMC Island, and local traffic from Chota Bazar will move via Mothi Darwaza. Traffic coming from Narsingi and Tippu Khan Bridge will be diverted at Ramdevguda junction.
Designated parking has been arranged for various categories of visitors. VIPs, ministers and MLAs will park between Bala Hissar and Bada Bazar mosque, while senior government officials have been allotted space at Golconda bus stop. Other government and non-government dignitaries will use the football/boys ground opposite Golconda police station, and police and additional officials will park at GHMC/Owaisi Ground.
Media personnel and awardees have been allocated parking at Area Hospital, Golconda, while general public and visitors may use parking at Seven Tombs, Deccan Park and HUDA Park.
At Secunderabad Parade Grounds, traffic will be diverted at Tivoli Junction towards Brooke Bond and NCC Junction, with restrictions in place from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Authorities have urged residents near Golconda Fort not to park on main roads and to follow signage. Commuters are advised to plan alternative routes and stay updated via the Hyderabad traffic police’s social media platforms, including Facebook and X. For travel assistance, the police have provided a helpline number (90102-03626).
