GMR Aero Technic, a leading airframe Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation, has entered into a three-year agreement with Akasa Air to provide base maintenance services for the airline’s Boeing 737 MAX fleet.
Under the agreement, GMR Aero Technic will carry out scheduled base maintenance checks, commonly known as ‘C Checks’ at its MRO facility located within the GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).
The partnership marks a significant step for both organisations. While Akasa Air reinforces its commitment to fleet safety, reliability, and operational efficiency, GMR Aero Technic continues to consolidate its position as a trusted MRO provider for India’s expanding aviation sector.
Belson Coutinho, co-founder and chief operating officer of Akasa Air, said, “Partnering with GMR Aero Technic for base maintenance aligns with our commitment to maintaining the highest technical standards as we scale rapidly. Their proven expertise and world-class infrastructure provide us with the confidence that our aircraft are in capable hands. This collaboration is also a testament to our support for the growing MRO ecosystem in India, and we look forward to a productive and seamless partnership.”
