The Department of Mental Health Education at NIMHANS in Bengaluru is organising a one-day workshop titled ‘Immediate Care for Psychological Events and Emergencies’ on August 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Seminar Hall 1, Dr. M.V. Govindaswamy Centre at the institute.

Aimed at equipping participants with essential skills to recognise early signs of mental health concerns and provide immediate care during psychological crises, NIMHANS has designed this workshop specifically for common people, even those without a behavioural science background.

During the workshop, participants will learn to identify early warning signs of common mental health disorders and provide immediate, empathetic support to individuals facing emotional distress.

With growing awareness around mental well-being and the increasing need for mental health literacy in the community, this initiative seeks to empower the public in becoming first responders in psychological situations — whether at home, workplace, or in public spaces.

Last date to register is August 23. Details can be had on mheducation.nimhans@gmail.com ; 080-26995156.
