President’s police medal for two SCR Rail Protection Force officers

Two Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of South Central Railway have been bestowed with prestigious President’s Police Medal on the occasion of 79th Independence Day – for Outstanding and Meritorious Services.

The awardees are – Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF/ Guntur, Gollamudi Madhusudana Rao, and Assistant Security Commissioner, RPF/Renigunta, K. Rajagopala Reddy.

Mr. Rao joined RPF as a Sub-Inspector in 1989 and over the last 36 years, rose to his present rank serving with distinction in various divisions. He was also awarded the Indian Police Medal during Republic Day 2016, DG/RPF Insignia in 2014, General Manager’s Medal and 16 DRM Awards.

Mr. Reddy too has been earlier decorated with Indian Police Medal in 2012 (Republic Day), All India Railway Minister’s Medals for Best Investigation on two occasions, DG insignia, GM’s medals and several other awards for detecting several difficult cases. He also represented India in UN Peacekeeping Missions in Kosovo and South Sudan as Police Advisor for about two years – upon which he was also awarded with the UN Peacekeeping Medals.

GM Sanjay Kumar Srivastava congratulated the awardees, as per a press release on Thursday.
