Four people, including two women from the same family, were killed and 11 others injured when a private bus crashed into a slow-moving lorry on the Macharam flyover in Jadcherla on Friday (August 15, 2025). The deceased were identified as the bus driver 50-year-old Narsimha, cleaner 25-year-old Narsimha, 49-year-old Radhika and 65-year-old Laxmi Devi.

Police said the accident was reported around 4.45 a.m. when the bus, carrying 30–35 passengers towards Hyderabad, rammed into the lorry loaded with stone dust.

According to Jadcherla Town Inspector Kamalakar, the driver is suspected to have dozed off before the collision. “The lorry was moving slowly due to its heavy load, but the bus driver, speeding on the same route, rammed into it from behind,” the official said.

The injured were shifted to hospital and are said to be stable. A case has been registered against the bus driver for negligence, and investigations are underway.
