Alumnus donates land to govt. school at Thirumangalakottai in Thanjavur district

Govindaraj, 80, of Singapore, an alumnus of the government school at Thirumangalakottai Kizhaiyur near Orathanadu, donated a piece of land owned by him at the hamlet for the construction of buildings for the institution.

Inquiries reveal that the donor, a native of Thirumangalakottai Kizhaiyur, has bequeathed land measuring 30,000 sq. ft., worth ₹2 crore, to the institution after coming to know that the institution authorities were struggling to find land for expansion of the institution premises. He handed over the land documents to the school authorities on August 15.
