The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Managing Director Munigopal Raju inaugurated a newly established high-capacity private electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Mysuru.
A statement issued here on Sunday said the charging station at Aditya Tech Park in Koorgalli Industrial area in Mysuru is equipped with two high-capacity hubs of 180 kW each.
The newly launched facility, which has been set up by Epic Enterprises, Bengaluru, in collaboration with Zeon Electric, is also Mysuruâs first e-bus charging centre.
Mr. Raju pointed out that the use of EVs will increase significantly in the coming days and said establishing more EV charging stations will benefit the public.
The CESC is considering a proposal to set up a dedicated EV cell to facilitate consumers, he said. âBy adopting electric vehicles, everyone can contribute to green mobility revolution and promote green energy,â he said.
With the increasing adoption of EVs across India, Karnataka currently has 5,880 public charging stations across the State and Mysuru, which is rapidly emerging as a tier-2 EV hub, houses 57 public charging points and 20 private charging facilities.
Zeon Electric, which set up Tamil Naduâs first EV charging station, operates more than 450 stations across South India and 99% of its charging points are located along major highways and at tourist destinations, the statement said.
CESC Technical Director D.J. Divakar, CESC General Manager Ramaswamy, former CESC Managing Director G. Sheela, and representatives from Zeon and Epic Enterprises viz Akhil Krishnan, Chirag, and Vishal were present on the occasion.
