
Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mahabubabad districts are under red alert issued by India Meteorological Department

Three districts of Telangana are under red alert on Monday (August 18, 2025). India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its bulletin issued on Sunday afternoon has predicted very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall as very likely at isolated places in Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mahabubabad districts.Â
An orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for Jayashankar Bhupalpally. And, heavy rainfall was forecast as very likely to occur in at isolated places in Adilabad, Hanumakonda, Kamareddy, Khammam, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Medak, Nirmal, Sangareddy, Suryapet, Vikarabad, and Warangal.
In Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, light to moderate rain or thundershowers, at times intense spells accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph), are very likely.
