The Opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress on Wednesday condemned the assault on the Delhi Chief Minister.
While AAP stated that people of Delhi are angry with Ms. Gupta, but it does not give anyone the right to attack her, the Congress said that the attack raises questions about the law and order situation in the city.
AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal posted on X: “The attack on Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is highly condemnable. In a democracy, differences of opinion are acceptable, but there is no place for violence. I hope the CM is completely safe and healthy.”
Leader of the Opposition and former CM Atishi also posted: “The attack on Delhi’s Chief Minister is highly condemnable. In a democracy, there is a place for disagreement and protest, but there is no place for violence. It is hoped that Delhi Police will take the strictest action against the culprits.”
