Man killed while crossing the tracks near Wimco Nagar station

An unidentified person was killed while attempting to cross railway tracks after being hit by a suburban train near Wimco Nagar railway station on Tuesday night. The Government Railway Police (GRP) of Royapuram station are investigating to identify the deceased.

A senior official of the GRP said a person, estimated to be around 40 years wearing a dhoti, unauthorisedly tried to cross the railway tracks unaware that a suburban train was approaching. The train was coming from Beach to Gummidipoondi. As he tried to cross the tracks, the speeding train hit him in which he was killed on the spot. 

On being alerted, the police officials of Royapuram GRP sent the body to Government Stanley hospital for postmortem.
