College student found dead near railway track

A 20-year-old engineering college student was found dead near the railway track at Vengamedu here on Wednesday.

Acting on information that a half-burnt body was found near the track, the police rushed to the spot and conducted inquiry. The student was identified as A. Jayakumar of the same area, who had gone missing since Sunday. He was studying in an engineering college near K. Paramathi. His body was sent to the Karur Government Medical College for the postmortem. The Vengamedu police have registered a case and are investigating.
