Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director, TVS Motor Company, said the share of scooters, both the ICE segment and EVs, will continue to grow.
“Scooter category has grown faster than other categories in the last few years. We are continuously launching products and keeping our products fresh,” he said, addressing shareholders at the company’s 33rd annual general meeting (AGM) on Friday (August 22, 2025) .
“TVS IQ has already surpassed 6 lakh units in sales, continuing its market leadership in India’s EV segment,” Mr. Venu said.
The Norton Motorcycles (the iconic brand which the company acquired) are coming for launch by the end of this year or early next year. Six new Norton vehicles, some of which will be shown at International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition(EICMA) in November and some thereafter, he said.

“This will lead to the resurgence of Norton and with this the revenues and the financial performance will definitely improve,” Mr. Venu said.
“The market in Europe for e-bikes has been very slow. With the recovery of the market, the improvement in our products and reduction of costs and the launch of new products, we do hope to see progress on this front as well in the coming years,” Mr. Venu said.
“ On batteries, brakes and other aspects of the supply chain, we are always working on reducing concentrations and on keeping multiple suppliers so that we can create a resilient and robust supply chain,” he said responding to a query from shareholders.
“In anti-lock braking systems too, there are new players and more players are investing in this business and we will plan the supply chain keeping resilience in mind,” Mr. Venu said.
Effective August 25, 2025, Sudarshan Venu has been appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of TVS Motor.
Ralf Speth stepped down as Chairman of the Company at the close of the AGM. The company has appointed Speth as its Chief Mentor for a period of three years effective August 23.
Meanwhile, the company said its arm Norton Motorcycle Co. Ltd, UK, has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary in the name of “Norton Motorcycle Private Limited” (“Norton India”) in India.
