Kerala government invites M.K. Stalin to international convention of Ayyappa devotees

Kerala government has formally invited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin as the chief guest to the ‘Global Ayyappa Sangamam.’ Devaswom Minister V.N. Vasavan visited Mr. Stalin in Chennai on Friday and invited him to the event.

Tamil Nadu Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P.K. Sekar Babu, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam, Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Endowment department K. Manivasan, Devaswom Secretary M.G. Rajamanikyam, Travancore Devaswom Board Commissioner B. Sunil Kumar also attended the meeting.

The global congregation of Ayyappa devotees, jointly organised by the Kerala government and the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), will be held at Pampa, the base camp of the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple, on September 20 as part of the TDB’s platinum jubilee celebrations. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the event.

 3,000 delegates

Around 3,000 delegates from different countries will attend the event, which will also see the participation of Union Ministers as well as the Chief Ministers from other States. To oversee the event, a 1,001-member organising committee has been formed with the Chief Minister as the chief patron.

According to the organisers, the conclave is envisioned as a platform to showcase Sabarimala’s cultural heritage and spiritual unity to the world. The event will bring together spiritual leaders, scholars, devotees, cultural representatives, and administrators from across the globe.
