Tambaram City Police arrest 3 persons, seize 160 capsules of heroin

The Sankar Nagar Police, Tambaram, arrested three men, and seized 160 capsules of heroin from them.

The police intercepted a person named Haribul Islam, 29, native of Assam, residing at Thirumangalam in Sunguvarchatram, on Thursday night, and seized 10 capsules that contained heroin.

On interrogation, he revealed that the drugs were purchased from Mohammed Imran, 22, a native of Bihar residing at Molachur in Sunguvarchatram. Following this lead, the police team secured Mohammed Imran, and seized 40 capsules of heroin from him. Upon further inquiry, he said that he had sourced thenarcotics from Rishabul Islam, another native of Assam residing at Mappedu.

The team then proceeded to Mappedu, arrested Rishabul Islam, and seized 110 capsules of heroin from his possession. He said that the heroin was procured from an unidentified supplier in his native in Assam, and was being distributed to North Indian migrant workers in and around Pammal, Anakaputhur, Kundrathur, and Pallavaram areas.

In total, 160 capsules of heroin were seized during the operation.
