Karnataka: Shivamogga Police arrest a person in Mysuru on charges of impersonation

The Shivamogga Police on Friday arrested a person in Mysuru, who allegedly cheated people by identifying himself as the personal assistant to Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa.

Shivamogga Superintedent of Police G.K. Mithun Kumar on Saturday told media persons that the accused, identified as Raghunath, the son of a retired government official, allegedly cheated a number of people after falsely promising them government jobs and transfers. Raghunath reportedly identified himself as the personal assistant of Mr. Bangarappa.

The Jayanagara Police had registered a case based on a complaint filed by Youth Congress worker G. Girish in Shivamogga. The accused was remanded to judicial custody on Saturday.
